At Salt, we are a values-driven business, one of our most important values being SYNERGY. Synergy is defined as - the interaction or cooperation of two or more organizations, substances, or other agents to produce a combined effect greater than the sum of their separate effects.
This is a constant hot topic as organisations encourage employees to collaborate and work together towards the organisations goals and mission, which in return not only increases efficiency, it gives employees a sense of support and increases communication between two parties.
We have many people preaching about being synergetic; however, in the past two weeks, I have greatly benefited from ‘synergy’ and collaboration – not only with my direct colleagues in Singapore but from my colleagues in different markets. This in return has had a great positive impact on my business and by being synergetic towards others I have managed to positively impact my colleagues work. What this has created, is a more collaborative work environment and positive energy. Recruitment is known as being a harsh environment, talking about synergy in the workplace is almost unheard off in some recruitment companies, however, when everyone is working towards one common goal for the organization, synergy comes in handy as you save energy when you have two people working towards a common goal and doubling efforts!
As mentioned, since we are a values-driven business, we are also measured constantly by our values, hence demonstrating synergy is almost second nature to me. If there is one thing I can recommend to everyone, is to be collaborative and demonstrate synergy in your workplace, it goes a long way and always benefits more than one party!
