Last Friday, Salt Malaysia was invited to attend the MY Tech Career Fair organized by University of Malaya. The Career Fair was established in hopes of further bridging the gap between graduates and employers within the digital community. I was given the honor of presenting on the topic of “Creating Your Own Future” where I focused on the things I learnt throughout my career in recruitment and shared with them tips on how to increase your employability as a graduate.
Seeing as I also graduated from a public university, I was able to relate to the challenges that students are currently facing. I explained to them the importance of having the right attitude/mindset at each stage of the employment process:
- Before applying for a job
- When applying for a job
- When you’re in the job
Furthermore, the team also manned a booth where we engaged with the students and provided valuable advice to them regarding their CVs, interview preparations, as well as a brief overview of the digital market here in Malaysia. It definitely was a great opportunity for us here at Salt Malaysia to be part of the community by being on the field and engaging with the crowd. Met a couple of familiar faces and built some new relationships. Definitely an event worth being part of.
