The KL Salt team went to the third installation of DisruptHR KL on Tuesday and we had a great time attending it. Great line of speakers with engaging and relevant topics were discussed within the space of HR.

DisruptHR is an information exchange community designed to energize, inform and empower people in the HR field with each speakers having only 5 minutes to cover their materials with slides changing automatically after a few seconds.

The speakers consist of Mark Koh from Supahands, Dato’ Hamidah Naziadin from CIMB Group, Roshan Thiran from Leaderonomics and many other great leaders in HR. It was a lively event which was hosted by Photobook’s Joachim Ooi. The topics covered were mainly engaging on the idea of “disrupting” HR and taking a stance in bringing HR back to its main purpose.

One of the few amazing highlights I would like to share was from Ling Hsern Wei, Head of Learning and Development for PwC Malaysia, as he shared some of the values that HR should be focusing on especially when it comes to cultivating culture in an organization mainly about treating learning and your organization as a committed marriage rather than a one-off wedding.

Some other highlights that I would like to share was from Dato’ Hamidah Naziadin, Group Chief People at CIMB as she spoke about the “KonMariHR” where she touched base on the true purpose of HR and taking it back to its roots. Main thing she spoke about was to eradicate unnecessary things and processes that just makes life more difficult in a workplace (which is something that a HR should be doing all along!).

Definitely an insightful night with amazing line of speakers. Best for us to embrace change as the future is not tomorrow, it is here.

Time to disrupt!
