Today I cold called a company, due to seeing a job posted online. They were not available, so I left a message explaining why I called with the receptionist, said my goodbyes and got on with the rest of my morning's calls.
An hour later, I was called back by someone telling me, without really even a much of a hello or a greeting, “I do not need the help of a recruitment agency, this is what LinkedIn is for, this is why I have posted my advert on LinkedIn” – to which I politely said “I understand, however, would you like to meet for a coffee just to put a face to a name and in case you ever require my help in the future” – you guessed it, they said no then hung up. Nice ey?
After this conversation, which frustrated me a little, as I’m sure one day he/she may need my help. I decided to write this little blog.
Recruiters are nice people, we want to help, we want to make your life easier. Just FYI. (all my lovely clients I know you know this 😊 )
HR Managers/Hiring Managers/CEO’s have a lot to deal with, therefore they come to us for help. Recruiters are business partners seeking to help grow your organization.
Recruiters do the hard work so you don’t have to
Us recruiters don’t see the jobs you can’t fill as just another mundane task, we are emotionally and financially attached in devoting time into forming relationships with candidates that are right for your business. We take full responsibility and ownership of the role from brief to placement. We are the face of your organization representing you to our best ability, taking in the complaints; if there is a delay on an offer, or why the role has now closed, or why they haven’t been put forward to the next stage or why there has been no feedback. The list goes on. We do the work you don’t have time to do. We try to make the process as smooth as possible.
Recruiters want to help
We want to fill your positions. We have vested interest to find you the best of the best when it comes to candidates. We want to advise on market knowledge, we want to inform you of superstars we are representing. We work long hours, speaking to candidates from all over the world, not just about the role, but about Dubai too – it’s not that easy relocating a family of 5 to a country they have never stepped foot in you know!
Recruiters are your friends
We take our clients out for lovely lunches, dinners, drinks. Some of my favourite clients are friends I will keep for a lifetime after working in this industry for 4 years - Consider us as your friend, as we can be! I Promise!
Yes of course, before the comments come in about “this is our job’’ and we get paid commission – well, exactly! Even more reason to understand why we are keen to help you and will give each role you give us 100% of our time to make sure we make that placement.
We can’t always find you the right person, but we can try! We have access to a wider range of professionals, a global database and the time to headhunt the best in the market. Here at Salt, we are proud to be specialists in our sectors and can openly say we are the best in the business at what we do.
I’m aware we come at a cost, that’s the nature of the business, however, you think it's expensive to hire a professional, wait until you hire an amateur! So, give us a call, let’s have a coffee – let me see if we can help you.
