Working for a business that has truly been ahead of the curve saying to clients that there isn't really one single competitor in the market place has often been uncomfortable regardless of how true this statement was. I realise that having no competition is not a good thing as irrational as this may seem. Being innovative and doing things before others do or even before they have the idea is one way to look at it the other is being brave and believing in your idea with so much conviction that you just cant help make it a global name and build an amazing team around you.
Having just returned from our NYC office which didn't exist a year ago, I know I made the right choice almost 5 years ago and am excited to see the continued growth of our business.
Deep down, every entrepreneur fears competition. After all, building a business is a deeply personal endeavour, and the very thought of having someone else try to play in your sandbox can elicit feelings of anxiety and defensiveness. The absence of competition in any given market segment is often viewed as a positive by entrepreneurs, providing them with a clear and straightforward path to success.
